How We Help
We have over 350 volunteers undertaking a number of roles within the hospital and in the community and we fund the staff costs of the Voluntary Services Department.
Each year the charity donates between £150,000 and £200,000 worth of equipment and services to the Airedale NHS Foundation Trust. A complete list of donations made each year and how much they cost can be found in the annual accounts.
The majority of our volunteers run the shops and cafes in the hospital. All profits are reinvested into the hospital services and equipment. We always offer a friendly smile and welcome whatever the role.
Many of our volunteers are long-serving. Here is the group receiving their long service certificates at a recent AGM.
Even dogs volunteer! One of our specialist volunteer roles is pet therapy.

We source and purchase clothes and run the Dignity service. If someone is admitted to hospital after an accident or wearing their night clothes and does not have anyone to bring day clothes in, then the service provides clothes for them.
We fund those things that improved the hospital environment for everyone including these storage sheds for tools and plants for the hospital courtyards.
We fund additional specialist equipment over and above that the NHS will fund including this holder for a probe that the hospital uses to scan babies to detect any hip abnormalities
