It’s Volunteers Week and we are celebrating the roles our volunteers carry out at Airedale Hospital NHSFT. Over 350 volunteers in normal times are involved in operating the shops and cafes, running our Clothes for Dignity Service, transporting patients to and from the hospital, feeding patients, helping with finance and administration……and, in any other way possible, improving the patient experience. We always have a smile on our face.
Unfortunately, many of our current volunteers are at home either because they need to shield themselves or because their role cannot be carried out at the moment. We have kept the main entrance shop and café running to help the staff and any patients able to use it. We look forward to ‘resuming normal service’ soon.
