Keighley-based Fibreline, the UK’s largest independently owned cushion fillings supplier, has presented the Friends of Airedale (FoA)with more than £1,000.
The money was raised by the company’s employee run Engagement Committee through a series of fundraising events held in 2025.
Fibreline named the Friends, the Airedale General Hospital charity, as one of its charities of the year for 2025. A team of 11 staff from across the company then went on to raise £1,073 for the FoA through a Just Giving page, raffle, sponsored walk, a community fun day, charity football match and by taking part in the annual Saltaire Dragon Boat Race.
Said Laura Staveley, People Advisor at Fibreline: “The charity of the year was a new thing for us in 2025. We decided that Friends is a fantastic charity to support as everyone in the factory will have either been treated at, or visited, Airedale Hospital. We’re delighted to have raised such a worthwhile sum for them and know it will support the charity in its aim to improve the hospital experience for patients and visitors.”
Said FoA Trustee Jan Turner, who accepted the cheque on behalf of the Friends: “We’re delighted to have received this donation from Fibreline and really appreciate the efforts of the team who have worked so hard to make this happen.”
Fibreline was established in 1982 and is based at Victoria Park Mills in Keighley. It was one of the first manufacturers of carded polyester fibre cushions for the upholstery industry. More than 40 years on from when it was established, the business has grown significantly and remains a family owned and managed business which employs some 250 people.
